Clean Energy Roles

Terms

What you're agreeing to when you subscribe — what this service is, what it deliberately isn't, and how to stop paying for it. Written to be read, not to be survived.

Who you're dealing with

Clean Energy Roles is operated by Clean Energy Roles Limited, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17437149, registered office Unit 82a James Carter Road, Mildenhall, Bury St. Edmunds, England, IP28 7DE. You can reach a human at hello@cleanenergyroles.com. In these terms "we" and "us" mean that company, and "you" means the person subscribing.

What the service is

We read job listings from employers' own public careers pages, or from their public LinkedIn page where that is where they post their roles, score them against a role profile you choose, and email you matching roles on a regular schedule, each naming the employer and linking the application. The free tier sends the newest matches each week; paid tiers send every role that clears your profile's bar, apply your own filters and open the web app.

That is the whole of it. It is a research and monitoring tool.

What it isn't

Being clear about this is more useful to you than any amount of small print later:

  • We are not a recruiter or an agency. We have no relationship with the employers we list, we don't submit applications for you, and we're not paid by anyone to feature a role.
  • We don't promise you a job, an interview, or a reply. You're paying for the monitoring and the scoring, not for an outcome.
  • Listings come from third parties and can be wrong or gone. A role may be filled, withdrawn, reposted, or described inaccurately on the employer's own page. We pass on what's published; we don't verify it.
  • Scores and fit percentages are estimates. They're produced automatically, they're a ranking aid, and they are not careers advice. Use your own judgement.
  • An application draft is a draft. If you turn drafts on, each one is written automatically from your CV and the role, and it can be wrong about both. Read it and correct it before you send it — and you send it, not us. We never submit anything to an employer on your behalf.
  • Coverage is a set of employers we watch, not the whole market. Which employers those are is published on Who we watch and changes over time.

Your account

An account is for one person. Sign-in works by emailing a one-time code to your address, so keep access to that inbox and don't pass the codes on. A subscription is personal to you: please don't share, resell, republish or systematically redistribute the digests or the web app's data. We may suspend or close an account that's being shared or scraped, and if we do we'll refund the unused part of what you've paid.

Paying

Subscriptions are sold and processed by Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd), who act as the merchant of record. That means your purchase contract for the payment itself is with them, their terms and privacy notice apply to that transaction, they handle tax, and the receipt and any invoice come from them. These terms govern the service you're buying. We never see or store your card details.

Prices are shown on the pricing page and include any tax due where your country requires it. A subscription renews automatically each billing period at the then-current price until you cancel. If we change the price of a plan you're on, we'll email you before it takes effect and you can cancel first.

Receipts go to whatever email address you enter at checkout, which doesn't have to be the address your digest goes to.

The two Recruiter plans can instead be invoiced annually, at the annual price published on the pricing page, on 30 days' terms. That route does not go through Paddle: the invoice comes from us, we are the merchant for it, and the paragraph above about Paddle holding your payment contract does not apply to it. An invoiced plan runs for the year it covers and does not renew automatically. Ask at invoices@cleanenergyroles.com.

Cancelling and refunds

Cancel any time, in two clicks, from the billing portal linked in the app and in every receipt. No email required, no retention questions. Cancelling stops the next payment and you keep your paid features until the end of the period you've already paid for. A cancellation or refund reaches the app at the next daily update, so a signed-in session can keep working for up to a day after it.

Fourteen-day money-back on Seeker. If you're on Seeker, you can have your first payment back in full — the monthly plan or the three-month pass — if you ask within 14 days of buying it, for any reason. Email hello@cleanenergyroles.com and we'll refund it and cancel the subscription. This covers the first payment only; after that, cancelling stops the next payment and you keep what you've paid for until the period ends. It is at least as generous as the 14-day cooling-off consumer law gives you, so there is nothing to tick or give up at checkout.

Desk and Agency are sold to businesses, which the consumer cooling-off rules don't cover, so they have no 14-day money-back. The service-failure refunds below still apply to them in full.

Beyond that, we'd rather refund you than argue. If the service hasn't done what it says here — a digest didn't arrive, the app was down, the roles weren't what the profile describes — email hello@cleanenergyroles.com and we'll refund the current period. We don't refund periods you used and were happy with, and we can't refund on the basis that no employer replied to you, because that was never what you were buying.

Refunds are issued through Paddle back to the original payment method. Your legal rights as a consumer, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, are not affected by anything in this section.

What we promise about delivery

This is a small operation, so the promise is deliberately modest and we'd rather state it plainly than imply more. We aim to send at least one digest a week to every paid subscriber, and to keep the web app available for paid subscribers. We don't guarantee a particular day, a particular number of roles, or uninterrupted availability.

If we miss a week, tell us and we'll credit or refund it. If we ever stop the service altogether, we'll email you, stop billing, and refund the unused part of your period.

Your data

What we store and for how long is set out on the privacy page, which is part of these terms. In short: your email address, the profile you picked, your settings, and your send history — and, if you're on Seeker and have agreed to each separately, your CV with its fit scores, and any application drafts written from it. Unsubscribing and erasure are two different requests and both are explained there. Payment data is held by Paddle, not by us.

Who owns what

The job listings belong to the employers who published them, and we link to their pages. The selection, scoring, employer briefs, summaries and the site itself are ours. You may use all of it for your own job search, including sharing an individual role with someone. You may not republish the digests or the underlying dataset, or use them to build a competing product.

Liability

We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. We're not liable for decisions you make on the basis of a score, a summary or a listing, for a role that turns out to be filled or misdescribed, or for anything an employer does or doesn't do.

Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to what you've paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law — and if you're a consumer, nothing here removes your statutory rights.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that affects you, we'll email subscribers before the change takes effect. Carrying on after that is agreement; if you'd rather not, cancel and we'll refund the unused part of your period. The date at the top is when this version was published.

Law and complaints

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you're a consumer resident elsewhere, this doesn't take away the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country you live in, or your right to bring a claim there.

If something's gone wrong, email hello@cleanenergyroles.com first — it reaches a person, and most things are fixable that way.

Free subscribers: everything above about the service, your account, your data and liability applies to you too. The paying, cancelling and refund sections simply don't.
