Clean Energy Roles

Questions

The things people actually write in and ask. If yours isn't here, send it over — the inbox is read by a person.

The basics

How is this different from a job board?

Job boards wait for employers to post to them. We go the other way: every morning the pipeline reads every employer on our list straight from the source, which is its own careers page, or its LinkedIn page where that is where it posts its roles. So roles show up here whether or not the company bothered to syndicate them. Nothing comes from an aggregator or an agency, so you don't get the same role four times with three different dates on it. The live employer count is on the home page, and Who we watch lists every one.

What kind of roles is this for?

Commercial, engineering, project delivery and technical roles inside renewable energy: sales and origination, grid and electrical engineering, project management, HSE and quality, procurement, wind and solar field technicians, and graduate and apprentice schemes. Browse the profiles to see the full list. What it is not is a general energy list: oil, gas and nuclear roles are scored out, not in.

How often does it send?

Once a week by default. The scan runs daily so nothing goes stale, but the email is weekly, because the point is to replace a search habit rather than add a notification to your day. Seeker can switch to daily in the app.

Which regions are covered?

Wherever those employers hire. North America, Europe and Asia Pacific carry most of the roles, and all three are worth a look; Latin America and the Middle East & Africa are smaller but real. Where the roles are has the current split, counted rather than claimed.

Profiles and scoring

What's a profile?

A scoring model built around a real job rather than a keyword: business development manager, grid engineer, project manager, HSE manager, wind turbine technician, and the director-level versions of the ones that have them. Every profile has its own threshold, and a role only reaches you if it clears yours. You pick one at signup and can see the roles it caught in the last thirty days before you commit.

My job doesn't match any of the profiles.

Write in and say what you do. Profiles get added when enough people describe the same gap, and in the meantime the closest one is usually more useful than it looks. Scoring reads the whole posting, not just the title, so a 'Senior Origination Manager' still lands for a business development profile.

Can I get more than one profile?

Seeker holds up to three; free holds one.

What is CV fit?

A Seeker feature: every role in your digest is scored against your own CV as well as your profile, so you can tell a 90% from a 55% before opening anything. Sign in, paste your CV into your account, and every digest from then on carries the score. The percentages shown on the plan preview are illustrative until you've attached your own CV.

Paying

Is the free tier a trial?

No, it's permanent. The ten newest roles that match your profile each week, employer named, application linked, each showing how it scored against your bar. It stays free.

What does Seeker get me?

£15 a month, or £35 for three months. Every role that clears a profile's bar, ranked best first (the rest are scored out), daily if you want it, with your region, remote and seniority filters applied, your own score threshold, every role scored against your CV, and the web app over those roles. Same-day alerts and an application draft are separate opt-ins in the app.

What do the recruiter plans get me?

Market intelligence over the whole corpus, every open role including every role that clears no jobseeker profile, rather than a digest. Desk (£99 a month) holds one of Europe, North America or Asia Pacific; Agency (£249 a month) holds every region and includes three sign-ins, for you and two colleagues. Both carry employer watchlists, same-day alerts, saved searches and the full role feed as a download. Both are subscriptions you start and cancel yourself, paid monthly or annually, and either can be invoiced annually instead if your procurement team prefers. Nothing is charged per seat, and there is no enterprise tier. The recruiter plans set out the rest.

How do I cancel?

Through Paddle's own portal, any time, and it takes effect at the end of the period you've paid for. You don't have to email anyone or sit through a retention flow.

Data and email

What do you store about me?

If you're on the free tier: your email address, the profile you picked, and the timestamp you confirmed. On Seeker, whatever you set up in the app as well: your filters, your score threshold, employers you're watching, and, only if you attach one and separately agree to it, your CV and the scores it produces. The only cookie is the one that keeps you signed in. Page views are counted without cookies and without anything that identifies you, by Cloudflare Web Analytics and by our own counter, which keeps only the page, the day and the site that linked to it. Digests record whether they were opened and which links were clicked. The full detail, including where it's kept, for how long and how to have it erased, is on the privacy page.

How do I unsubscribe?

The link at the bottom of every digest, which emails unsubscribe@cleanenergyroles.com for you. That inbox is read by hand, so it's prompt but not instant: normally a few days. Unsubscribing stops the digests and marks your record cancelled. If you also want the data erased, say so and it gets actioned separately.

Will you sell my address?

No. There's nobody to sell it to and the whole point of the project falls over if you can't trust the email.

When it breaks

A link went to a dead posting.

Employers pull roles without warning and some boards keep serving them for days afterwards. If you hit a dead link, forward it: that's usually the first sign a scraper needs attention.

A company I care about isn't in the list.

Send the name and their careers URL through the contact form. Adding an employer is a small job when their board runs on a system we already handle, and most do.

I got a digest with nothing in it.

That means nothing cleared your profile's threshold that week, which happens more in December and August than anywhere else. It's deliberate: an empty digest is more honest than a padded one.
